Facebook had gained a lot of popularity when it started back in 2004, and has now been the most popular social networking website ever. Now that the WEG2G social website has been launched, we would like to break down how these two social networking sites are similar and different.

Similarities

1. You have your own individual profile.

2. Messages can be composed.

3. Newsfeeds will be the thing you'll see once you sign in to your own account.

4. Events can be made, and you can invite your friends to the events.

Differences

1. Facebook's revenue model are Ads, whereas WEG2G owns four other companies, from which its revenue is generated.

2. While Facebook users varies from businesses and individuals, WEG2G is only open to individuals.

3. Facebook only promotes virtual or online form of communications and networking, which in a sense can be viewed as anti-social (unreal life) experiences. On the other hand, WEG2G strikes the balance between virtual life and real life.

4. In spite of great efforts by Facebook to improve its privacy settings, it still lacks behind WEG2G privacy management. For example, in Facebook you can see your friend's friends list, yet such option is not possible in WEG2G.

5. Once you delete your Facebook account, it takes up to 4 weeks for it to be completely terminated, but your WEG2G account will be deleted once you request it to be deleted.

6. Your messages can be categorized into different types, whereas Facebook has no option for organizing messages.
