Much more than beach resorts, the Dominican Republic is one of the Caribbean's most geographically diverse countries, from stunning mountain scenery to desert scrublands, evocative colonial architecture, buzzing city life and languid countryside, and famously warm welcoming people.
From white sandy beaches and coconut palms of Punta Cana to UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Eastern National Park and Colonial City of Santo Domingo, we indulge you in a journey filled with venture, history, and excitements. Trip Daily Itinerary

Day 1- Punta Cana
Welcome to Dominican Republic. Arrive at any time in Punta Cana, then check in and enjoy the beaches. Please try to arrive before 9:30pm for an important group dinner meeting where we'll meet with our Tour Guide and other group members.

A Caribbean workhorse of sun and sand, the southeast is synonymous with go-big-or-go-home tourism and carries the weight of the Dominican Republic’s most dramatic beaches and turquoise seas on its deeply-tanned shoulders.

Overnight stay at Karibo Punta Cana Hotel Suites or similar

Day 2- Punta Cana
Relax whole day on the beach, enjoy the crystalline waters or explore the tropical surrounds on you own around Punta Cana beaches. White sandy beaches, coconut palms, crystal clear turquoise waters and a special Dominican touch makes for an unforgettable day of relaxation during your Caribbean vacation.

Overnight stay at Karibo Punta Cana Hotel Suites or similar

Day 3- Eastern National Park & La Romana City
Today, we have a tour around the Eastern National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Eastern National Park (Parque Nacional del Este) is a prime habitat for hundreds of species of plants and animals, including 112 species of birds. The reserve also encompasses one of the Caribbean's largest marine parks with an immense coral reef system. Four species of sea turtles as well as manatees, bottlenose dolphins, and numerous species of fish live in its tropical waters. In addition to this wealth of biodiversity, the park is the habitat for the rare paloma coronita (crowned, or white-headed dove) and the rhinoceros iguana.

After enjoying the park biodiversity and seeing its spectacular coral reef system, we explore the park further to view examples of pre-Columbian art in its system of caves.

After park we visit La Romana City. A traffic-congested and bustling city, La Romana, is a convenient stop for those traveling between Santo Domingo, 131km to the west, and the beach resorts further east. Surrounded by vast sugar plantations, La Romana, on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, is home to the charming Altos de Chavon, a replica of a 16th century artisans' village and one of the island's best spots to shop for crafts.

Overnight stay at Karibo Punta Cana Hotel Suites or similar

Day 4- Santo Domingo and Colonial City
We go to Santo Domingo to take a walk through history in the oldest city in the New World. With its cobblestone streets and beautifully restored mansions, it’s easy to imagine Santo Domingo’s landmark quarter as the seat of Spain’s 16th-century empire. But the past and present coexist rather gracefully here; follow in the footsteps of pirates and conquistadors one moment, while the next pop into a shop selling CDs from the latest Dominican merengue star.

At Santo Domingo, we visit the historic Colonial City (Zona Colonial), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with cobblestone streets, stunning Spanish Colonial architecture, and excellent restaurants. We also visit the First Cathedral of America, the oldest existing cathedral in the Americas.

Optional Activities: You may visit the Museum of the Royal Houses, the early 16th century Alcazar De Colon, built by the son of Christopher Columbus, the Columbus Palace, the Columbus Lighthouse (Faro a Colon), or Ozama Fort on your own.

Overnight stay at Hotel Palacio or similar

Day 5- Teleferico Puerto Plata
We travel early morning to Teleferico Puerto Plata and after 4 hours of driving, we visit San Felipe Fort, one of the oldest buildings still standing in Puerto Plata. Then, we visit the small museum at the fort, where you can see wartime artifacts such as guns and cannon balls. Take in gorgeous Atlantic Ocean views from Fort San Felipe before continuing on. Next, take a guided tour of Isabel de Torres Mountain. We ride a cable car up to the top of the mountain and admire breathtaking views of the bay. The botanical gardens at the top are good for an hour’s stroll. You'll also find a large statue of Christ the Redeemer (similar to but smaller than its counterpart in Rio de Janeiro). After your cable car ride back down the mountain, you’ll be transported back to your Santo Domingo hotel.

Overnight stay at Hotel Palacio or similar

Day 6- Santo Domingo
Today you can visit the city on your own. You can make your way to a local restaurant and take a seat for your lavish buffet lunch. After enjoying the food, make the most of some free time to walk down Calle El Conde, a pedestrian street lined with shops, restaurants and more historical sights.

At your last night, you can get dressed to the nines, do some stretching and get your dance moves on. Nightclubs in the seaside resort hotels host some of the best merengue and salsa bands this side of Havana.

Overnight stay at Hotel Palacio or similar

Day 7- Punta Cana
Heading to Punta Cana where you can depart at any time.
