Day 1 BIG ISLAND- KONA
ALOHA! And welcome to Hawaii. Arrive at any time in Kona on Big Island, then check in and enjoy the city. Please try to arrive before 9:30pm for an important group dinner meeting where we'll meet with our Tour Guide and other group members.
Day 2 VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Today, we explore the Volcanoes National Park UNESCO World Heritage site. Specifically, we visit Volcanoes National Park, including the Thurston Lave tube and a Volcano Caldera from the Jagger museum, steam vents and Visitor center. After that, we heading south out of the Volcano to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach where we should see some Honu's the Hawaiian green sea turtle.
Next we drive to South Point the most southern point in the USA, the location the first Polynesians are thought to have landed over 1,000 years ago. Awesome sea cliffs ( will you jump ? )
We return to the hotel and enjoy the beautiful sunset at the evening.
Day 3 KONA COFFEE FARM & PU'UHONUA O HONAUNAU NATIONAL PARK
Today we explore the Kona Coffee Farm. We start the Tour at one of Kona’s oldest Coffee farms Greenwell Farms opened in 1850 and is still ran by the Greenwell family. The farm is on prime Kona coffee land and you will see Coffee trees that are over 100 years old and see the whole Coffee producing process from Tree to the Cup.
After that, we head south to Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. It is the most intact Pu'uhonua (native Hawaiian cultural site) . This park is without doubt the most significant Hawaiian Heritage site in all of the Islands. This is the Place A Place of Refuge, for those who broke the KAPU a second chance at life.
Day 4 MACADAMIA NUT FARM & KONA PACIFIC FARMER
Today, we visit the Macadamia Nut farm. We tour an Organic Mac Nut farm run by Diane who is always fun and has a large collection of rescued animals and great Mac Nuts at JOES NUTS!
After that, we visit Kona Pacific Farmer’s Cooperative, the oldest and largest Kona Coffee Cooperative in the United States! Farmer owned & operated with 32 loyal farmer members specialize in Kona Coffee since 1910 and now process over two-million pounds of cherry per year. A great place for samples wonderful baked goods from the kitchen using the fruits harvested from the tropical fruit garden. The tropical fruit garden is great to tour with over 50 different fruit trees.
Day 5 KEALAKEKUA BAY
Today we visit the Kealakekua Bay where Captain Cook fell on Feb 14th 1779 we view Cook Monument from across Kealakekua Bay a protected bay where the great British explorer met a violent death.
We then drive back thru Kona along Ali’i Drive. viewing the beaches resorts and fabulous homes.
Day 6 BIG ISLAND- KONA
Spend the day as you desire, discovering nature or simply relaxing on the beach or by the pool.
Day 7 BIG ISLAND- KONA
Enjoy your last full day in Hawaii on your own. You may choose to reinforce your tan at the beach or spend the afternoon collecting last minute souvenirs. Later this afternoon into the evening, you can attend a Luau held as a farewell for all the tour guests.
